For the true believer every day is a day of Thanksgiving. God has rescued us from His wrath through the atoning death of Jesus Christ on the cross. God has raised Him up and given Him as Head over the church. In Christ we are given "every spiritual blessing" (Ephesians 1:3). We have also been given "His divine nature" (2 Peter 1:3-4), the provision of the Holy Spirit to free us from both the dominion and guilt of sin. These blessings are constant each and every day.
I am also so thankful for our student ministry at Wellington Church. Yesterday we took a picture of the group and every face in the picture brings a smile to my face. I think of the way each of them have grown, both physically and spiritually, and all I can do is give thanks. Psalm 100:3, 5 says, "Know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture...For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations." God is God - God is good!
